AppealDesk charges $49 but you print, mail, and file everything yourself. TaxAppeal charges $89 and handles it all -- certified mail included. Here is the honest comparison.
AppealDesk is a DIY evidence tool. For $49, you enter your address and within minutes receive a packet in your inbox: comparable sales data, a cover letter, and a county-specific filing guide. It is genuinely useful -- the comparable sales data is real and the cover letter is professionally written. But AppealDesk stops there. Everything after that is on you.
TaxAppeal USA is a full-service document preparation and mailing service. For $89, you enter your address, answer a few questions about your property, pay, and we handle the rest: comparable sales analysis, dispute letter drafting, USPS Certified Mail filing with Return Receipt, and a tracking number emailed to you. You do not go to the post office. You do not manage deadlines. If a hearing is scheduled, attending is your decision — TaxAppeal is a preparation and mailing service and cannot appear for you.
In Texas, your protest is valid if postmarked by the deadline. In Florida, the VAB petition must be RECEIVED within 25 days of your TRIM notice mailing -- postmark does not count. If your self-mailed packet gets delayed, lost, or arrives one day late, your petition is automatically rejected and you wait a full year. When TaxAppeal files your petition, we use USPS Certified Mail with Return Receipt -- which creates legal proof of the exact date it was received. That documentation can be critical if a receipt date is ever disputed. AppealDesk cannot provide this because they do not mail anything -- you do.
Here is every meaningful difference between the two services:
AppealDesk is the right choice if you are comfortable going to the post office, you are confident about tracking deadlines, your state does not require receipt by deadline (postmark is sufficient), and you want the lowest possible upfront cost. For a Texas homeowner who is organized and does not mind the errand, $49 is a reasonable spend.
TaxAppeal is the right choice if you want it completely handled, you are filing in Florida (where receipt deadlines make professional mailing critical), you are not confident about post office logistics, or your time is worth more than $40. For most homeowners -- especially in Florida -- the $40 difference is the cheapest insurance policy available.
$89 flat fee. You sign it, we file it. You keep 100% of your savings.
TaxAppeal USA is a self-service document-preparation and mail filing service. In every state we serve, including Florida, we are not property tax consultants, agents, or representatives, we do not provide tax or legal advice, and we do not represent customers before any appraisal district, board of equalization, value adjustment board, or review board. Every protest and petition is prepared for the property owner, signed by the owner, and filed in the owner’s name. In Florida we also pay your county’s Value Adjustment Board filing fee on your behalf and mail your petition to the Clerk of the Value Adjustment Board. Your petition is signed by you as the property owner under section 194.011(3), Florida Statutes. TaxAppeal USA does not sign as your representative, does not appear before the Board, and does not present evidence or argument at a hearing.
