Your appeal goes to the Greene County Board of Equalization. Everything below explains how that works and what the board wants to see. Our Alabama appeal kit is not on sale this season — we open for 2027.
We are not preparing Alabama appeal kits this season. We will be for the 2027 season, and we will email you the day it opens so you have time to get yours in.
To appeal your Greene County property taxes in 2027, send a written protest to the Board of Equalization to the Greene County Board of Equalization by 30 days from Notice of Valuation. Support your appeal with recent comparable sales showing your home is assessed above market value. Appeals are authorized under Code of Alabama §40-3-20. TaxAppeal USA prepares appeal kits — the form filled in, the evidence and a return envelope — that you sign and mail yourself.

Many Greene County appeal services take a share of your savings. TaxAppeal USA charges $89 for the kit, once, and only after checking that an appeal would lower your bill.
Your TaxAppeal USA kit comes with the form filled in and a return envelope already addressed to the correct Greene County authority, so you don't have to track down addresses, forms or deadlines. You sign it, add a stamp and mail it. We do not file your appeal or contact the county for you.
Deadline: 30 days from Notice of Valuation. Enter your address and we'll check whether an appeal would actually lower your tax bill before you pay anything. If it won't, we'll tell you, and we won't sell you one.
Check My Appeal — $89 Kit →TaxAppeal USA is a self-service document-preparation service. We prepare a ready-to-sign appeal kit and mail it to you; you sign it and mail it to the county yourself. In every state we serve, including Florida, we are not property tax consultants, agents, or representatives, we do not provide tax or legal advice, and we do not file appeals or represent customers before any appraisal district, board of assessors, board of equalization, value adjustment board, or review board. Every appeal, protest and petition is prepared for the property owner, signed by the owner, and mailed by the owner in the owner’s name. In Florida your petition is signed by you as the property owner under section 194.011(3), Florida Statutes, and the county’s Value Adjustment Board filing fee is paid by you directly to the county. TaxAppeal USA does not sign as your representative, does not appear before the Board, and does not present evidence or argument at a hearing.
